I’m super keen to get back behind the wheel for this weekend’s WD – 40 Phillip Island 500.
Our pace has been really good so far and I think it’s fair to say we should rely on our past performances. So far heading to each round knowing that we were fast last round, the round before that and the round before that… I’m hoping it continues for us.
I really enjoy this track, it’s 4.450km – traditionally it’s a bit of a longer track, with longer flowing corners. I think our car will really suit this circuit, I’m just hoping our ZB Commodore is going to give us a bit more confidence in the rear aero to allow us to push a bit harder.
Previously, I have gone okay here. I finished 3rd in Sunday’s race last year, (DNF in Saturday’s race) and qualified 8th and 11th. I’m hoping to push harder this weekend and get further towards the pointy end of the grid.
We’re currently sitting equal second in the Championship, so I’m focused on giving it my all and gaining some points.
The layout will see a typical 20min qualifying session before each 250km race – one on Saturday and one Sunday.
The first Practice session kicks off Friday 20th April, 11:25am (AEST).
Lets hope we can bring home some decent results and keep clawing our way up that Championship ladder!
See you at the track.
