I love this time of year. It’s a time in the V8 Supercars season when I really look forward to the tracks we visit. The endurance season is approaching and I generally have good results this time of year.
Darwin is great on an off the track. The city makes us feel so welcome and the crowds really do appreciate and enjoy the racing. It’s a real festive atmosphere. On the track is another matter however.
In the past I’ve had pole positions and enjoyed racing up front. And who can forget when Frosty and I tangled? But that’s why Darwin is such an important race. It’s a pivotal round on the series where you can either stay with the leading pack in the championship, or potentially lose touch for the remainder of the season. It’s make or break and The Bottle-O Racing team is within a whisker of the Top 5. A couple of podiums and I could find myself within striking range.
The Bottle-O Racing team have been working very hard over the past month to ensure we keep our pace. From my point of view, I have to get on the podium to build the momentum in points and confidence.
Finally, I’m looking forward to announcing new personal sponsorships this week. I’ve been working closely with Push Talent Management over the past month and we’re very excited to be announcing the sponsorships this week. Watch this space!
See you in Darwin!
