David Reynolds is coming off a mixed weekend at The Bend and will again take to the Tailem Bend circuit for the second round of the double header for the OTR SuperSprint The Bend. The 35-year old is still searching for consistency, although finished last weekend on a high in seventh and ninth respectively.
The most noticeable difference this weekend will be the track layout, where they’ll use the West circuit rather than the previous International circuit. The shorter layout cuts out thirty five percent of the International circuit and therefore, a lot of the fast right-handers will not be used.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to it this weekend,” admits Reynolds.
“I don’t mind doing back-to-back weekends but having a different layout but at the same track is really cool.
“Pretty much if you draw a line from Turn 6 and went straight on, that’s where the track joins back on.
“Last weekend we seemed to struggle the most in the middle sector, which isn’t part of this weekend’s layout and there is a new sector added, which provides a few different turns which is good for us.
“We learnt a lot from last weekend and have a few things up our sleeves to try and make our cars fast, so hopefully we’ll carry some speed this weekend and see how we go!”
This weekend’s schedule will imitate much the same as previous rounds, with qualifying, a Top Fifteen Shootout and a 32-lap race on Saturday, before two back-to-back qualifying sessions and two 32-lappers on Sunday.
The Supercars take to the track for practice one on Saturday 26th September, 9:35am local time.
