The BP Supercars All Stars Eseries took to Texas, Circuit of the Americas for round six of the Eseries on Wednesday night. Although Reynolds had experience around COTA, where he raced at the Austin 400 when the Supercars visited Texas back in 2013, virtual racing wasn’t quite the same.
Despite plenty of practice, the Penrite driver was unfortunately caught up in a few racing incidents and from there was unable to make his way further up the field. His best place finish being 13th in the second race of the night, after a reverse grid.
David Reynolds reflects;
“I practiced a lot at this track the last week so to qualify so far back was really disappointing. I think at best I should have been 14th or 15th; that’s what my best times in practice represented.
“I’m not sure exactly what happened but I definitely got hit by someone in the first race and in the last race. I went ok in the second race and picked up one place. Obviously, it’s easier starting further up the field because you have a better view of what is happening ahead of you, as opposed to when you start from the back.
“Of the last six races I have been crashed into five times in the first lap, so it’s really frustrating when you practice heaps for every race, but, it’s like any contest, you can get really annoyed, but, it’s a game so you get over it and move on to the next round.”
Round 7 of the Eseries will take place next Wednesday, 20th May at Charlotte and Daytona’s roval.
Race 18 – 18th
