We’re onto my not so favourite track this weekend, Queensland Raceway! It hasn’t been the kindest place to us over the years. I’ve had some fast cars, but just haven’t been able to convert into decent results – I really don’t know what it is! We’ve played with different set up options as well as strategy and we just can’t break this track!
I think my best finish around QR is fourth and last year’s races I finished seventh. I’m hoping we can do better this weekend and change our bad luck around.
Queensland Raceway or better known as the ‘Paper Clip’ is 3.2kms in length and about six corners in total. The average track speed is about 160km/h, with a top speed of approximately 250km/h.
This weekend will see a knock out style qualifying layout on both Saturday and Sunday; with two sprint races – Saturday being 39 laps and Sunday, 65 laps.
I tell you what though, I AM looking forward to getting into the sunshine!
Here’s hoping we can have a good weekend and come away with some decent results!
Practice 1 kicks off on Friday 26th July at 11:35am.
Hope to see you there!
