This time last year was a turning point for me. Although not everything was going to plan behind the scenes, on track I claimed a win that set me up for the remainder of the year.
I love coming to Darwin. It’s the tuning point in the season when I seem to gather form. It’s the beginning of a series of tracks which seem to suit me. Tahan’s family are up here too…so it’s almost like a second home!
We’re here with some confidence. Our run at Winton showed that changes made to the car are working. Our Sunday pace was awesome. The Darwin track is not dissimilar to the Winton track – so we’re hoping that speed translates to our performance this weekend.
Behind the scenes the team continues to gel. Barry Ryan has made more tweaks to the engineering team. Although Campbell Little will be moving to Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport, Barry Ryan will take over duties. Barry and I worked together way back in Kelly Racing days when Barry was engineering Greg Murphy’s Pepsi Max Crew Commodore.
I’ll finish off by saying a big thanks to everyone at Erebus that continue to work long hours to achieve success. It’s a shame fans can’t see what goes into making a successful team. I’ll also say a big thanks to all you fans out there that continue to support me – thanks for all the messages of support on my social media too.
See you this weekend!!
