It’s here! The first round of the season – Adelaide 500 and I cannot wait to jump behind the wheel and get the season underway!

I unfortunately had an injury towards the end of last year and I’m still getting over it, so I haven’t been able to do as much training as I would have liked. Although, Highline Active have been keeping me in shape in the off – season!

In the past, I haven’t had the best history here (Adelaide), so I’m certainly looking to improve that and I’m hopeful that this year we should have better results! I feel like we are better prepared and we have come off a successful finish to the 2017 Championship – so there is a real positive vibe buzzing through the team, which I’m really excited about.

Our car is a lot better at street circuits than it was at the start of last year and there has also been some resurfacing around the track, which I’m hoping will help me a little bit!

We’re also running a brand new chassis as well as a brand new aero kit for our ZB Commodore, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how it performs this weekend.

It was really hard to get a good understanding of the new car at the compulsory test two weeks ago, as Eastern Creek is known for high tyre degradation – so it makes it super hard to gain an understanding of what the car is capable of. I’m hoping though, that we will have much more of an understanding of the car by Friday afternoon.

I love street circuits; they’re fun, entertaining, and hard to drive – this track requires a lot of concentration the whole weekend.

Traditionally, this event is hot! It’s definitely one of the hardest rounds to go to and trust me – 78 laps is a long way around when you’re sweating it out in the cabin 20 – 30 degrees above ambient!

I do love this event though. I enjoy the atmosphere; everyone’s really friendly and Adelaide’s such a cool town to be in.

The first 40min Practice session kicks off Friday 2nd March, 9:45am AEDT.

Here’s hoping we can bring home some results and make a great impression for the start of the season!

See you at the track!
